Source of suffering...
Jainism views the whole universe in terms of two eternal, independent, indestructible, and coexisting components, Jiva and Ajiva. In a being Jiva is the soul and Ajiva is the physical body. Ajiva comes in many shapes- love for an object, attachment to possessions and material things, etc. For a Jiva, Ajiva is seen as a burden, which reduces brilliance and its ability to experience bliss.
According to Jain tenets, karma is a kind of Ajiva that is invisible to the naked eye, but is present everywhere in the universe. It is the source of all misery. The karmic substance is an impurity that leaves an imprint on the soul. As a result the soul loses its freedom as it becomes bound to a vicious cycle of actions and consequences.
